Arnold Schwarzenegger is still going strong at 75. From playing major characters in movies to cameos for TV shows, Schwarzenegger is active in the acting industry. Earlier this year, Arnold appeared in an ad with Salma Hayek. The Austrian Oak collaborated with a German automobile giant for a unique commercial.

In the ad, the two Hollywood icons portrayed Greek gods who quit their duties. However, retirement doesn’t go as planned until they buy a car from the automobile giant. 

Is Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as the king of Olympus?

The bodybuilding icon collaborated with German automobile giant BMW for a Super Bowl ad. In the ad, the bodybuilding icon played Zeus, the king of the gods of the Greek Pantheon. Hollywood legend Salma Hayek starred alongside him as Hera, the wife of Zeus. On December 15, BMW’s official Twitter handle posted an image of the champion bodybuilder, teasing another collaboration.

“He’s back…” BWM tweeted a collage of Schwarzenegger. The image on the left was the Terminator actor dressed as Zeus. The text read, “How it started.” However, in the picture on the right, the actor is wearing a motion capture suit. “How it’s going,” the text over the second image read. While BWM teased another collaboration, it’s unclear if the 80s action icon is reprising his role.

In the ad, Zeus and Hera retire from their positions as king and queen of the Greek gods. The couple travel from Mount Olympus to Palm Springs. However, Schwarzenegger’s Zeus soon becomes bored with humans. While Hayek’s Hera enjoys her time, Zeus only becomes more frustrated.

The god of lightning also repeatedly has to charge various devices during his time on earth. However, when Hera brings him the BMW iX, Zeus feels delighted. The ad ends with the narrator claiming the iX is “Electricity in its ultimate form.”

Will Salma Hayek also return

In the ad, Slam Hayek’s Hera plays the foil to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Zeus. Hera tries to calm her husband down throughout the ad and gets him the BMW in the end. However, the German mega automobile company hasn’t teased a second collaboration with Eternals actor. It could also indicate that the seven-time Mr. Olympia is not reprising his role as Zeus.

The former bodybuilder had appeared in commercials before starring as Zeus in the BMW iX ad. However, he has done only five ads during his decades-long career. If BMW releases another ad with the Predator actor next year, it would be his sixth commercial since beginning his acting career in 1970.
