Back in 2014, Arnold and Maria’s son Patrick Schwarzenegger was dating singer Miley Cyrus. The news of their relationship was all over the media. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver was furious about her son Patrick dating the two-time Grammy nominated millionaire singer.

She reportedly canceled her plans to attend the Art Basel Miami as Miley was present over there with Patrick. Speaking on their relationship she said,” Patrick is anti-drugs, but Miley doesn’t give a f***. She smoked marij*ana on stage, and God knows what else she was on for the rest of the weekend.

Moreover, regarding her son Patrick, Maria said,” There’s no way Patrick can be linked to drug use; his family is American royalty.” All in all, Maria did not approve of Patrick and Miley’s relationship.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria’s relationship

Arnold met Maria for the first time during a tennis tournament in August 1977. Tom Brokaw introduced them to each other at the Robert F. Kennedy Tennis Tournament. After meeting each other a couple of times, they started dating. Later, they got married on April 26, 1986.

The couple had four children together, with their eldest child born in 1989. The couple seemed like a match made in heaven. Fans loved the public appearances that they made together.

However, they announced their divorce in a joint statement On May 9, 2011. “We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment”, the statement read. The reason that came across for their split was that Arnold had fathered a child with their housekeeper and kept it a secret from Maria. Arnold took full responsibility and apologized to Maria and his children.
