After placing seventh twice, Valliere dropped out of the top ten at the 2022 Mr. Olympia. Disappointed with his performance, Valliere answered a lot of questions about his future plans during the AMA session on Instagram. However, he didn’t hesitate to answer some bold and unique questions.

What would it take for Iain Valliere to drop his bodybuilding diet?

“How much would you have to be paid to eat like a strongman for 60 days?” a fan asked the 2021 Arnold Classic runner-up. Valliere said he would be willing to give it a try. However, there was a catch. “Ah, I’d want at least like 50k I guess lol. Enough to make it worth my while.” Iain Valliere wrote. While $50,000 might sound like a lot of money, Valliere would put his career on the line if he switched to an extreme diet.

Diet is a significant part of bodybuilding. Drastic changes in diet can derail months and sometimes even years of a bodybuilder’s hard work in the gym. Bodybuilders are precise with their calorie intake. The amount and type of calorie intake also change depending if it’s off-season or if the athlete is prepping for a contest.

Unlike bodybuilders, strongmen have massive diets. World Strongest Man winners like Eddie Hall, Hafthor Bjornsson, and Brian Shaw have been on 10,000-calorie diets while competing. Unlike bodybuilders, strongmen don’t have to display their sculpted bodies on stage. Instead, they eat to boost their strength.

How insane can a strongman’s diet get?

On December 18, World renowned strongmen Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw went grocery shopping and posted a picture of their weekly haul on Instagram. However, the caption revealed how insane a strongman’s diet can get. “Recreating Brian Shaw’s Weekly shop, over 120,000 Calories.” Eddie Hall wrote in the caption.

Hall also revealed Shaw spends around $600 every week on food. Strength athletes like Hall and Shaw require immense calories to lift as heavy as they can during training. Fans couldn’t believe Brian Shaw ate over 17,000 calories every day.
