The most awaited bodybuilding event of the year concluded this weekend. The Iranian bodybuilder, Hadi Choopan, clinched the most prestigious Mr. Olympia 2022 title. Whereas the former champions Brandon Curry and Big Ramy stood fourth and fifth, respectively. Even though Curry might have made peace with the result, his fans did not seem satisfied. Fans reacted their hearts out on an Instagram post by Brandon Curry that he uploaded the day after Mr. Olympia’s 2022 grand finale.

After an extremely close contest between the top five, Choopan outclassed the other four, according to the judges. However, as bodybuilding is judged on a subjective basis, there can be thousands of opinions. Similarly, Brandon Curry’s fans opened up about their views in the comment section of Curry’s video.

Brandon Curry: The fan’s favorite?

The judges might not agree, but Curry’s fans do not doubt that he deserved to win. Curry hasn’t won the Mr. Olympia title since 2019. And it was a golden chance for him to create history by winning two biggest bodybuilding titles in a year, twice. However, he couldn’t repeat his 2019 results.

Before going to the fans’ comments, bodybuilding veteran Robby Robinson commented on Curry’s post. He wrote, “All the respect more basic exercise work the Machines kill serious muscle development.” Other than that, 10x Arnold Classic winner, Oksana Grishina, conveyed her message in emojis. She commented, “💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼❤️”. Moving on, let’s have a look at what his fans had to say.

One of his fans reacted with no filters and directly attacked the judges. He wrote, “The CHAMP was robbed last night! I have such a bitter taste for the O! I believe I’m scratching it off my bucket list because I don’t like the politics🤦🏾 BRANDON thickest was amazing and well structured!” Moreover, the other fans kept building bridges of Curry’s praises. They wrote, “The people’s champ. Such a stand up guy!”, “Probably one of the best, if not the best, upper bodies in the history of bodybuilding!🙌”, “Most aesthetic Olympian of Men’s Open 2022. 🙌”.

Whereas other fans wrote their comments, predicting if he will or will not be available for the next Mr. Olympia. They wrote, “You’re a legend of the sport man. If this is your last year it was hell of a ride. You’re one of very few to claim the title of Mr O and nobody will ever take that from you. Those kids have some”, “Come back next year champ! You are the best representative we have in current crop of active athletes. You know what to do to win it next year!”

Indeed, Brandon Curry missed a chance of making history here. And Curry’s fans don’t seem to be happy at all about it. They made him the people’s champion and want him to come back next year to lift the trophy. Do you think Curry deserved to win the Mr. Olympia title this year?
