16-year-old Figure Skating Sensation Alysa Liu Gives a Shocking Update on Her Career

The Young American figure skater Alysa Liu has announced her retirement from the sport. Notably, she is just 16 years old. Liu has announced that she has achieved all that she wanted to achieve in this sport, and therefore, looks forward to retirement.

Alysa Liu began figure skating when she was just 5 years old. She went on to become a 2-time U.S. National Champion, and also a World medalist. At the 2022 Figure Skating Championships, she won the bronze medal.

Liu took to her social media to announce this news. She believes she had a beautiful experience in this sport. However, it is time for her to move on to different things in her life.

Just last month, Liu was seen at the Figure Skating World Cup. And until recently, she was also in Japan with the US Team for the Stars on Ice, Japan tour. However, on Saturday, Alysa announced her retirement via Instagram.

She shared several shots from her beautiful career and revealed how indebted she was to the figure skating sport, which will always be a part of her.

“Heyyyyy so I’m here to announce that I am retiring from skating… about 11 years on the ice and it’s been an insane 11 years,” wrote Liu.

When she first started skating, even Liu did not anticipate that she would get this far. With loads of good and bad memories, it has been a thrilling experience for the figure skater.

“I’m so happy. I feel so satisfied with how my skating career has gone. Now that I’m finally done with my goals in skating, I’m going to be moving on with my life.”

She has learned a lot of lessons from the sport. In addition, she has also made some friends whom she will cherish for a lifetime.

Liu revealed that she will now spend time with her friends and family. For 11 years, she has dedicated her life to the sport and proved herself to be the world’s best. It is true that Alysa had immense potential to go ahead and become the World Champion, but the athlete has decided to take a new path for herself.

“But fr this skating thing has taught me a lot more about life than I anticipated. I’m really glad I skated,” penned down Liu.

She revealed that she is “glad she skated” and so are we. Although Liu will be stepping down, her contribution to the sport will always be remembered. She will remain one of the most talented figure skaters to have graced the rink.
