Yuzuru Hanyu is among the most prominent names in figure skating. He proved the significance of the sport in his life when he performed in the men’s short program final with an ankle injury at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The figure skater sprained his ankle during practice a day prior to the free skating segment of the Games. Although he proceeded to compete in the event, he did not secure a position at the meet. It thwarted his dream of securing his third consecutive gold at the Olympics.

Following the Winter Olympics, Hanyu took a break from competitive figure skating to help his ankle heal, most significantly withdrawing from the World Championships in France. Moreover, he kept a low profile following his return from the Winter Games. However, the legend is making a return to the rink with the Fantasy on Ice tour in Japan.

Currently, Yuzuru is making his much-anticipated comeback to the sport with the commencement of the tour on May 27th. He made his first public appearance following the Beijing Olympics on the opening tour night at the Makuhari Event Hall in Chiba Prefecture.

The Japanese figure skater was the last act on the opening night. He performed his act to a live rendition of ‘Real Face’ by J-Pop mega star Suga Shikao in front of a packed audience.

However, not all fans of the star will be able to attend the opening night of the tour owing to the limited seating facility. For people who have missed the tour’s opening night, an itinerary of the tour dates and airing schedule has been compiled for added convenience.

On June 3rd, the ‘Fantasy on Ice’ tour will open its second act at the Nippongaishi Hall in Nagoya.

On 5th June, the events of the second act will also premiere at 90 theaters across Japan. But people living outside Japan will not be able to watch the show as organizers are yet to announce the availability of the event to a worldwide audience.
