The friendship of Simone Biles and Katelyn Ohashi has always been the talk of the town. The two gymnast shares a close bond. The two have crossed several milestones from their teenage to their professional years. Often addressed as the ‘Double Trouble,’ the two sporting legends started their journey together at National Camps.

In her book ‘Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, a Life in Balance,’ Simone lays open her close interactions with Katelyn. The two replaced Kyla Ross and Elizabeth Price when they had to withdraw their names from the American Cup.

In March 2013, Biles made her senior international debut at the FIG World Cup competition known as the American Cup. . Two were only 15 years old when they competed in the competition.

The Olympic medallist was startled by Ohashi, who was regarded as one of the most spectacular gymnasts in the world at the time. In 2009, Katelyn Ohashi began her career at the junior level. She rose to fame rapidly, winning the junior national title in 2011.

Many thought she would be the next big thing in gymnastics. Her dreams were dashed by a career marred by injuries. Biles considered Ohashi a serious rival. Katelyn was undoubtedly one of the greatest in the world when she was at her best.

In the 2013 AT&T American Cup’s Balance Beam competition, Ohashi famously defeated Simone Biles.
