Conor McGregor and his superstardom draws not only MMA fans but also Hollywood A-listers and celebrities from the sporting world. The mixed martial artist has made a name for himself through and etched it in the annals of mixed martial arts.

The Irishman is often compared with other athletes, who carry the same second and something similar has occurred with Olympic medalist Roneisha McGregor.

The 24-year-old Jamaican sprinter has become one of the most prominent sprinters in the world. With multiple medals across prestigious events, she is certainly living up to the McGregor name. The Jamaican sprinter has picked up a bronze medal at 2020’s iteration of the Olympic event and continues to add more feathers to her cap.

Are the two athletes related? Evidently, the two players don’t share the same lineage apart from the name. The mixed martial artist’s family background is deeply ingrained in Europe, while Roneisha hails from the Caribbean. It is unlikely that the duo have ever met, which further reduces the odds of them sharing similar family ties.

Conor McGregor received multiple call outs in 2022

The injury suffered at UFC 264 last year hasn’t healed and is still keeping McGregor away from the Octagon. The stage is already set for the UFC star’s return as several fighters have already called him out. Former title challenger, Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier, has kept his options open, and he is even ready to roll out the welcome mat for him.

Similarly, Nate Diaz, Michael Chandler, and Charles Oliveira have made their intentions clear as well. While Diaz is aiming to fight his way out of his contract with the promotion and hasn’t ruled out a rubber match with McGregor. The other two have recently inserted their name into the conversation at the latest UFC 274 event.

The Notorious one has offered his response to both men, clearing the air that he won’t be making a return to the lightweight division. This would make Chandler the likely opponent that could soon materialize.
