The frenzied off-season saw a variety of moves transpire in a short time. And perhaps one that dipped under the radar of higher-profile signings was Nick Castellanos’ move to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Nick Castellanos has had a bumper performance through the years in the league, but he has copiously few trophies to show for his skill set. And it turns out that getting him there might have had some help from superstar hitter, Bryce Harper.
Nick Castellanos signs with the Phillies – Bryce Harper’s role?
Reportedly, the superstar hitter had a big part to play as the Phillies organization moved towards signing Castellanos. To hear it from the signing himself, “Bryce also played a part in getting this deal done.”

“Ya know, big thanks to him,” Castellanos said, in his first press conference donning the Phillies cap. Harper also worked in typically effective ways, choosing to call Castellanos’ agent, Scott Boras, over the course of his signing. And to hear it from the super agent, Harper was persistent, if not anything else. “And now I don’t get four phone calls a day for the last month from Bryce Harper,” Castellanos’s agent Scott Boras said.
