Kobe Bryant Once Saved Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez From a Serious Injury with His Golden Advice: “My Knees Were Banged Up”

One can love him or hate him, but one can never ignore Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez. Even after his retirement, he is still a significant face of baseball. Be it his professional life or personal life, A-Rod’s life is all about controversies. However, when it is for friends, he has always been around in a significant capacity.

Talking about his friends, A-Rod shared a great relationship with the late Kobe Bryant. The two were very close to each other. Both started their professional career almost at the same time and they also bid farewell to their respective sports in the same year.

Baseball and basketball are extremely physical games. If any player wants to play for a long time, then their fitness is the biggest key to their longevity. Having played for over 20 years in Major League Baseball, A-Rod has barely struggled with any serious injury. And when he had one, it was Kobe Bryant who helped him recover from it.

In 2019, A-Rod opened up about how Kobe helped him when his knees were hurt. He revealed that Kobe helped him with his doctor. “Another thing we have in common is that we had not have any issues. A lot of people don’t know I am very grateful,” A-Rod said. “Because my knees were banged up, and you said, Alex, you got to see my guy in Germany. So I went to see Dr. Peter Wellington.”

A-Rod said this in an interview while sitting with Kobe himself. He also revealed that because of that doctor, he won a championship. “And literally saying, you sent me there. My knees have not hurt. We won a championship. We have done all probably the last five years pain-free,” A-Rod added.

In 2020, the world lost a sporting icon when Kobe Bryant met in a chopper accident. He, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, died in the accident. To date, the entire world mourns the untimely demise of Kobe and Gianna.
