However, there are many baseball fans, who are still completely not aware of the players’ demand and the revenue system of the league. Many fans also believe that players are responsible for the expansive tickets of ballparks.

Former Red Sox star explains players’ involvement in expansive tickets

Considering the current scenario in MLB, it is highly unlikely that the league will start as per schedule. Many baseball fans blame the MLB owners for the work stoppage while some of them also accuse players of the lockout.

However, recently, when a fan tried to criticize MLB players for the delay in MLB negotiation and overpriced tickets, former Red Sox star Will Middlebrooks slammed him with a befitting reply.

Responding to a tweet from ESPN’s Buster Olney, a baseball fan criticized MLB players and said that they don’t deserve any more than they have. He also blamed players for the expensive tickets and referred to the players as overpaid.

“These players don’t deserve anymore then they have. They are overpaid and baseball is a sport most families can’t afford to go to. Players are overpaid and are out of line,” tweeted the fan.

Reacting to this, the former Red Sox star couldn’t resist himself but explain the players’ involvement in the ticket prices. Middlebrooks said players’ salary is not the reason for high-priced tickets.

“I’ll say it again. Ticket prices aren’t influenced by player salary,” replied Will Middlebrooks. “ Have you ever seen a team shed payroll and drop ticket prices? Don’t worry, I’ll wait.”

Notably, MLB has already postponed the spring training for one week. And if things do not get better in the coming days, then MLB will also lose league games.
