New York Yankees are arguably the most successful franchise in the history of Major League Baseball. But if we look at the current scenario, they are probably the most unorganized team in MLB. The 27 times World Series winners have not touched the World Series title after their 2009 win over Philadelphia Phillies.

However, if the Yankees’ fans wait for another one or two seasons, then they might actually see some of the best baseball talents playing for them. And considering the hype and his recent performances in Minor League, the Yankees prospect, Anthony Volpe, could be instrumental in the coming times. Recently, his fellow prospect Ken Waldichuk praised the improvement of Volpe and said that Volpe makes scouting reports in his head.

Waldichuk said that Volpe is definitely a big-league player. “He’s just really smart. You’d see him even on an off day studying pitchers, like seeing what their tendencies were, which is definitely a big-league thing,” he said.

“Whenever the other pitcher was on the mound. It almost seemed like Volpe was making a scouting report in his head. So you could see he had the mindset to be really good,” said Waldichuk to NJ.com.

Even during the pandemic, when most of the people were stuck in their homes, Volpe used this time to craft his body. After the pandemic ended, he had put on 30 pounds of muscle. Because of his dedication and technique in the game, Volpe is already being hailed as the next Derek Jeter. Notably, just like Jeter, he also comes from the same home state and plays his position.

While it is a bit early to be making such lofty predictions, there is no denying that Anthony Volpe will definitely be a big thing for the Yankees in the future.
