“RIP To The Family I’ve Lost”: Lindsey Vonn Pens Down A Heartbreaking Note Ahead of New Year

While everyone is having a blast with the new year’s celebrations, Lindsey Vonn ends her year with a note that she dedicated to her beloved family. She writes about her 2022 experience and how the year has taken away a lot of loved ones from the former alpine ski racer.

In her recent Instagram post, Vonn wrote a heartbreaking note in the caption. This note conveys her emotions about the prior year and what’s coming next in 2023. She is both sad and grateful for the lesson that life has taught her.

The retired alpine ski racer mourns, as 2022 took her loved ones away from her. Vonn lost her mother, Linda Krohn; her grandmother, Shirley Kildow; and her pet dog, Bear. Notably, she misses them a lot. But the former alpine ski racing champion has to prepare for what’s coming next in her life.

Vonn mentions in her Instagram post, “RIP to the family I’ve lost this year. 2022 has been a hard one… My Mother, my Grandmother and my boy Bear. It is still hard to come to terms with it all. I am still grieving and I think I always will. I am thankful for the time I had with all of them… but I still wish they didn’t have to go…”

Her mother passed away on August 27, 2022, because of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), which left a scar on her heart. Although Vonn is thankful to her mother, who has taught her to be a survivor. She also mentioned that she has never wasted a single opportunity that life has given her. Everything that happened to her in 2022 only made her stronger.

Despite all the losses she suffered in 2022, Vonn isn’t sitting around all day mourning them. The 38-year-old is ready for life to give her more challenges this year. She mentions in the same post, “As my Mom used to say, ‘today is another great day!’ And in her memory, that’s how I’m gonna continue to live.”

Vonn is still going to follow her mother’s words to overcome another year. She isn’t going to back off and become stronger this year. Currently, Vonn is an active businesswoman and also has expertise in the modeling industry. She also sometimes uses her decorative skiing career to give reviews as a sports expert.
