Simone Biles has been unequivocally branded as the GOAT of gymnastics over the years, by many of her fans. Now, a recent “Top 10” list curated by the OpenAI app ChatGPT has placed her above every other female athlete of all time, except Serena Williams. While many in the sports world agree with the list, several others contend her position at the 2nd spot. They even mentioned how Biles, a 7x Olympic medalist has never even participated at the Continental Championships, as shocking as it may sound. Several other legendary sportswomen found a mention in the debate, some of whom didn’t even make it on the list.

ChatGPT’s recent list of “Top 10 Female Athletes of All Time” has found its way over social media, and in no time it spread like wildfire. It also managed to stir up a debate as to whether or not Biles is appropriately placed. Several other names such as Nadia Comaneci, Katie Ledecky, Larissa Latynina, etc were also brought up by fans who deserved a place on the list but weren’t there.

NBC Sports recently tweeted, “We asked ChatGPT to list the 10 greatest female athletes of all time…” Many athletes find their place on the list, but the omission of several others generates controversy. While Serena Williams‘s and Simone Biles’s positions right at the top became a point of contention with many, alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn also questioned the list after several athletes weren’t paid their due diligence. Nadia Comaneci, Katie Ledecky, and Vonn herself were some who were excluded.

One of the names that went missing from the list is swimming champion Katie Ledecky. The 7-time Olympic gold medalist wasn’t featured in the list and many felt that her contributions in her field were overlooked by the app while making the list. Her 2 gold and 2 silver medals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 just show what kind of form she is still in.

Fans didn’t forget any of their contributions to the sport.
