“There’s No Such Thing as Unbeatable”: Simone Biles’ Superiority Over Other Athletes Was Denied by US Gymnastics Head Coach Once

Simone Biles won 25 World Championship medals, which made her the most decorated athlete the sport of gymnastics has ever seen. Simone established dominance over her contemporaries ever since her debut as an amateur gymnast. There have always been discussions questioning whether she was unbeatable.

Simone has come under the lens of critics several times. However, by putting forward remarkable performances, she proved them wrong. Whenever she would step on the mat to perform, the crowd would be on their feet to witness history being made.

US head gymnastics coach weighed in on the ‘unbeatable Simone’ claim

Simone Biles won the gold medal at the World Championships during her debut. After that, she performed consistently over the years in several international-level competitions. People compared Simone to Mary Lou and Nadia Comaneci.

The former United States Gymnastics head coach, Martha Karolyi, once weighed in on the claim and revealed her opinion on the topic. Speaking on that, she said, “She is one of the most talented ones. I, personally, don’t like to make statements like “unbeatable.” I especially even commented this to Simone that there’s no such thing as unbeatable.”

Martha believed that one always has the scope to keep on improving and reaching new heights. A gymnast always practices to achieve perfection. “Also, we’re competing pretty much against ourselves, not against anything that is out there besides us,” she said.

Simone started training at a very young age. Aimee Boorman coached Simone ever since she was 8 years old. Aimee played a very vital role in shaping Simone as a world-class gymnast. With eyes on the international title, the athlete-coach duo put in relentless effort and hard work over the years.

As Aimee coached her ever since she was a junior gymnast, she made sure that Simone had very strong basics. A proficient coach is indeed needed to bring out the full potential of an athlete.

Aimee helped Simone glide through the initial stages of her illustrious career. However, after the Rio Olympics in 2016, Aimee and Simone parted ways as Aimee relocated to Florida. Despite not being Simone’s coach anymore, Aimee revealed that she would always be Simone’s well-wisher and mentor.
