Hull Surf Camp Founder’s Determination to Overcome Adversity Shines Through After Skiing Accident

It’s always inspiring to see people who refuse to let adversity get in the way of their dreams and passions. One such person is the founder of Hull Surf Camp, Ronnie Lees, who demonstrated remarkable determination after a deadly skiing accident. The expert skier lost both his legs but didn’t choose to give up.
Lee runs a summer surf program and teaches surfing to more than 500 kids. The horrific accident happened on February 20, when Lee went on a ski vacation, with his cousin and their teenage daughters, at the Snowbird resort in Utah

While descending the hill, Lee lost the path and went to an off-limit region. The low visibility due to the storm worsened the situation for him. Since he couldn’t manage to stay on the path, he ended up falling off the cliff.

Lee broke both his legs and cracked his kneecap in the tragic accident. “I’ve been skiing for 50 years, this isn’t supposed to happen to someone like me,” Lees told The Patriot Ledger. The founder spent 20 minutes screaming and crying in excruciating pain, before the rescue team found him. He was taken to the hospital for immediate medical supervision.

Lees faced major damage in the lower part of his body, with his right leg completely broken. Following the accident, which left him with serious injuries, the founder could have easily given up on his dream of opening a surf camp. But instead, he used his setback as motivation to work even harder and push himself even further.

Never give up attitude of the founder
Lees’s recovery would take a long time now. However, the founder of the Hull, is dedicated to being present for the young surfers whenever they want. “I’ve got plenty of motivation to get back on my feet.”, he said. Despite the physical and emotional toll of his injuries, he never lost sight of his goal and is determined to work tirelessly to turn Surf Camp successful. Lee also said that the summer programs would commence on the pre-decided dates and there won’t be any postponement.

Lees’ unwavering determination is a source of inspiration and motivation for others who are facing their own challenges and setbacks. The founder’s temperament serves as a powerful reminder that no matter what obstacles we may face in life, we have the power to overcome them through hard work, perseverance, and a never-give-up attitude.
