The announcement of the astonishing sight came in June 2022, however, there were a few hiccups in the final approval. Perth’s surfing Park is going to be the biggest in the southern hemisphere and it would require clearing off a huge part of the land. While the park would expand to 5.78 hectares there’s always a danger of losing the floral habitat.

The EPA initially raised concerns that the project would threaten the habitats of Black Cockatoo and Banksia trees. However, after investigations, the authority finally gave the green flag to the project. As reported by ABC News, the EPA concluded, “The EPA considers that the likely Environmental effects of the proposal are not so significant as to warrant formal assessment.”

The proposed amount of the project goes up to $100 million. The location was carefully selected for its accessibility and proximity to major roads and public transportation. The planned surf park, being developed by Aventuur, is expected to revolutionize the surfing industry in Western Australia. The aim is to provide a new recreational space for surf enthusiasts of all skill levels.
