His success on the basketball court propelled him to heights that seem unlikely to be matched. Likewise, Tony Hawk ticks all the boxes as well.

Tony Hawk is a legendary skateboarder, who has played a huge role in promoting the sport in modern times. Moreover, his latest project sees him with a residential school survivor who spoke about Hawk’s influence on his life.

The legendary skateboarder’s influential personality has paved the way for many upcoming skateboarders. Significantly, he produced a movie about a residential school survivor and how he became a professional skateboarder. The film revolves around Joe Buffalo’s life and the struggles he faced in making it big. It is an iconic movie and the first of its kind.

Hawk is well known for his philanthropy. He helped a lot of people to skate as he became a great advocate for the sport. Moreover, the legendary skater created the Tony Hawk foundation back in 2002, showing his passion for the sport. Hawk made skate parks for aspiring skateboarders and this helped to combat the strict rules and regulations in America.

The foundation has made over $5.8 million and created 596 skate parks across the country. The foundation received the Robert Wood Johnson Sports Award in 2015 because of the impact it created amongst the masses. He also co-founded ‘Athletes for Hope’ which inspired athletes to take part in their communities and other specific programs.
