Lindsey Vonn supports Mikaela on the setbacks of the Beijing Winter Olympics
Beijing Winter Olympics was probably one of the darkest phases of Mikaela Shiffrin’s career. In all the events she took part in, she only got disappointments. It was tough to watch the two-time Olympic gold medalist struggle to even finish in the top ten. However, being a competitive skier herself, Lindsey understands that, in sports, it’s not always trophies and medals. Sometimes, no matter what you do, you get what you get. It’s basically the part of the job too.
On Mikaela’s Beijing Olympic setbacks, Lindsey said, “(It’s) just not a realistic expectation of any person to be able to win all the time.” Elaborating on the tough phase she was going through, Lindsey further added, “You’re witnessing someone going through a lot, obviously, with her father and with the Olympics and just everything. And I do see a level of strength that I haven’t seen before.”
