You might know American skier Lindsey Vonn as one of the greatest players of all time, but the more fascinating fact about her is that she is an even greater human being. With the help of her NGO Lindsey Vonn Foundation, she has changed thousands of lives and will continue to do so in the future as well.

She has led an incredible skiing career, winning almost every event in skiing. Her remarkable achievements include a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics, four world cup titles and she also has also won World Cup races in all five disciplines of alpine skiing — downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined.

Lindsey Vonn saved a young girl’s life

While Lindsey has been an inspiration for millions of people because of her extraordinary career, her social efforts also deserve appreciation. She recalls how she saved a young girl’s life who came to her through her NGO. Lindsey said, “I had a young girl who cut herself, and after my camp she stopped doing it and that made me so happy.”

She couldn’t hold her tears as she further added,I mean, it makes me emotional because it’s powerful. If I can help one person which I felt like I did, it means something. Who cares if I blew my knee out five million times when I helped one girl to not want to kill herself?”
