After a Year Into Retirement, Shaun White Finally Finds His “New Calling” That Is as Adventurous as Snowboarding

After retiring from snowboarding in 2022, Shaun White is excited to start a new chapter of his life. Recently, White shared a short video clip of a new sport named skijoring which he would like to try. With this, he also posted an adorable picture with his girlfriend Nina Dobrev. 

White shared the clip of skijoring on his Instagram story on 4th February 2023. The clip was added from Jim Lucarelli’s short video clip on Instagram. With this, he also shared an amazing photo of Nina Dobrev and him vacationing in Indonesia.

The snowboarding champion added the video clip of a horse pulling a person who was skiing in the snow. White captioned this post in his Instagram story, “I think I found my new calling..”  


The skijoring video clip was originally shared by Jim Lucarelli on 18th January 2023. The clip is of the San Juan Skijoring event which was held on the 14th and 15th of January 2023 at Ouray County Farmhouse, Colorado.

9 Months After Retirement, Bored Shaun White Is Prepared to Do a Menial Job

With this, White also shared a cute image of his girlfriend Nina Dobrev kissing him in Indonesia on the beach. Dressed in black shorts, White has a smile on his face. Dobrev was dressed in a full-length ecru-colored dress. As the couple is on a traveling spree post White’s retirement, prior to exploring Indonesia, White went on a vacation to Antarctica with his girlfriend. In Antarctica, the snowboarding champion went out of his comfort zone and did a daring act. 

Shaun White’s risky stunt in the icy waters of Antarctica 

A video shared on Twitter on 6th January 2023 portrayed how despite the cold, White jumped into the waters of Antarctica. After jumping, White continued to swim for less than two minutes in the water.

The video also showed a marvelous view of the snow-capped peaks in Antarctica. While onlookers were counting the seconds White was in the water, the snowboarding champion performed this stunt effortlessly. After swimming, White returned to the shore, not showing any ill effects from the icy cold water.
