The risk of a probable accident looms over every sport. The chances of accidents are high especially in adventure sports. Surfing is one such thrilling sport with frequent mishaps. While not all these accidents are life-threatening, at times they can do severe damage to the body.

Recently, a TikTok user shared a video on the platform where one such incident was caught on camera. Despite being a regular, the surfer sustained heavy injuries to their face after catching four waves. Fortunately, none of these injuries were life-threatening.

Surfing accident goes viral on TikTok

A TikTok video capturing a Surfing mishap has been making rounds on the platform. The video was shared by TikTok user Lucian Garber. The footage has probably been taken from the camera attached to the helmet of the surfer. In the video, one of the waves wiped the surfer out. Describing the incident, Lucian Garber wrote, “Why do these things always happen to me. I caught 4 waves and then I got this one and fractured two bones around my eye.”

During the wipeout, Garber might’ve collided with a part of the board which in turn caused the injury. They further added, “I didn’t know what to do I was to much in shock so I just layed on my board.” After resting for a while, the surfer brought themself back to safety.

Surfer’s Worst Fears Came True Following Terrifying Angry Swan Attack Once

This was just one of the many incidents that take place in the deep waters of the ocean. Many survive to share their tales with the world, others don’t. Not long ago, a university professor, shared his near-death experience while surfing in the angry waters.

Negligence leads to disaster

The Chairperson of the Communication Department of The Master’s University, Dr. Bob Dickson once opened up about a near-fatal surfing accident. The day the incident had occurred, Dickson had allegedly overlooked all the warnings. Ignoring the empty beaches and the absence of the lifeguards, Dickson entered the robust water to catch some waves.

As a result, he ended up getting caught between the water and the rock. When the waves started curling up, Dickson found himself stuck between the rocks after the first impact. Following this, the next wave launched him into the air. As the wave calmed down, Dickson was harshly spat out of the water, onto the rocks. He sustained multiple severe injuries because of the impact which left him immobile for some time.

Luckily enough for the professor, help was not too far away. Ultimately, he was rescued and made it back home safely. These stories of various thrill seekers are perfect examples of how uncertain life could be. Whether it is an expert or a novice, things could go down, anytime, anywhere for anyone.
