Swimming GOAT Michael Phelps Devotes Himself to Changing the World for His Kids

The climatic adversities in the 21st century have become a topic of grave concern. Hence, notable personalities are doing their part to address the issue, and encourage the world to work towards resolving it in unison. Likewise, swimming legend, Michael Phelps is also contributing to the cause with his thoughtful insights.

In a recent Instagram post by the industrial giant, Panasonic, The Baltimore Bullet shed light on the matter. In the video shared on Panasonic’s official handle, Phelps talks about an initiative launched by the organization on declining climatic and natural conditions. Additionally, his meaningful stance complemented the purpose.

As per the social media update, the snippet of the 37-year-old proposing his intention for climate change was commendable. With an inspirational upbeat music, along with brief glimpses of him diving, Phelps also talked about the motive of the impactful ingenuity. “We filmed some swimming shots, some deck shots, kind of a before and after, what it looks like now and what it could look like in the future if we aren’t working together and teaming up and actually caring about our earth,” Phelps said.

Furthermore, the 23-time gold medalist spoke of his concern for the future, which may affect his and all children’s lives. He claimed, “You know for me, I jumped in because I wanted to make an impact, I want to be able to change the world for our kids, for my kids… so they can experience everything we experienced.”.

Several prominent organizations and athletes like Serena Williams, Mikaela Shiffrin, Roger Federer, and many others are collectively putting in efforts to eradicate the global environmental shifts. Moreover, the entire movement is pacing up toward a hopeful future for the upcoming generations. “jump in with @m_phelps00 to help us save the planet. #GREENIMPACT,” the post’s caption read. Interestingly, skiing icon, Shiffrin is also aware of the present scenario and responsibly addressed it in a recent interview.

Talking to Tina Maze in an interview with Eurosport, the 6x World Cup winner along with other co-athletes lately encouraged the International Ski and Snowboard Federation to take accountability for the impacts of skiing on nature. She also highlighted the need for strict measures to dissolve the problem. “The public opinion about skiing is shifting towards unjustifiability,” she stated.

Simultaneously, Shiffrin also added, “That’s why we as a winter sports community have to take the lead in the fight against climate change and make our sports climate neutral as soon as possible” She addressed the urgent situation as another race to be won together, and also held every individual and the whole system, responsible for the damage done.

Evidently, climate change and spiraling natural conditions are pressing issues that need to be dealt with immediately.
