If we have learned one thing about the swimming legend Michael Phelps, it’s that he never gives up. Perseverance and dedication are probably the top qualities he possesses. However, sometimes your biggest blessings can go against you. As far as swimming was concerned, Phelps’ never quit attitude was definitely a trait that gave him an edge over his opponents. Though applying the emotions in a game of poker is probably not a wise decision to make.

Michael Phelps is probably one of the most recognized athletes in the world of swimming. He came, he conquered, and he set the standards ridiculously high for the generations to come. So much so that after six years of his retirement, some of his records still remain untouched.

Besides swimming, we often see Phelps involved in a range of sports. And poker is undoubtedly one of them. However, per a report, “Michael has a “don’t quit until you win” attitude, which was great while he was swimming but could be costly playing poker.” Furthermore, the report says, “All Michael thinks about is gambling.”

Phelps is a very competitive individual. All he wants is to win in everything he does. But different sports require a different approach and playing poker with a never-give-up until you win attitude is probably not the right approach to the game.

Playing poker always has an element of the financial risk involved, but for Phelps, it is one of his favorite pastime activities. He said, “I love to play. It’s fun, it’s exciting. It’s a place where I can be me. I’ve met some of my best friends at a poker table.”

The passion and excitement with which Michael Phelps approaches everything is a quality he should be admired for. Phelps is a swimming legend and has achieved possibly unimaginable things. However, it’s not necessary that he would get the same sort of success in everything he does. Perhaps it seems like the swimming legend is beatable in certain areas of life.
