Michael Phelps is still the fastest 15-year-old swimmer in the US
In the team trials for the world championship, 15-year-old Thomas Heilman scored a record timing in the 200m butterfly. With a staggering time of 1:58.01, the kid became the second-fastest US swimmer in his age group. Even after more than two decades, the swimming legend Michael Phelps still holds the record for the fastest 15-year-old swimmer in the country.

Even though Heilman missed the record by a mere 2 seconds, it’s still a great achievement. Previously in the 13-14 age category also he was second beside Michael Phelps with 1:59.87 on the clock.
Seems like growing the champ is going to present a serious threat to Phelps’ records.

In the US swimming trials, another sensational performance by the Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel guaranteed his place in the US world championship team. With 47.79 s on the clock, Caeleb scored the fastest 100m time this year.
