All athletes completed the event below the 10-second mark in the race, which is a significant feat.

In the semi-finals, Fred Kerley clocked an astonishing 9.76s, the sixth fastest time in history and a new world lead. Moreover, the sprinter went on to clinch the gold in the finals with a time of 9.77s.

The meet will also see the likes of Christian Coleman, Erriyon Knighton, Elaine Thompson-Herah, and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Therefore, it is likely that the records of Usain Bolt and Florence Griffith Joyner will face substantial challenges from these athletes.
