Florence Griffith-Joyner is a name still fresh in every track fan’s memory. Though she is not with us anymore, her 34-year-old long-standing world record still holds. However, Elaine Thompson-Herah broke Flo Jo’s Olympic record at the Tokyo Games. And the controversy was born. For what is worth, Elaine is certainly standing against what is being proposed.

Flo Jo still holds the world record in 100m(10.49) and the record of the fastest woman on the planet as well. Since the record was made during an Olympics trial-run in Indiana in 1988, many question its credibility. Hence, some proposed that Elaine should be handed over the title of fastest woman ever. As for Elaine, she believes if she can get near it once, she can surely break it in the next track race.
