Year after year US track and field community has produced world-class talents. With the World Championships set to take place in Oregon, many are excited to see new sprinters come to the forefront. Of all the gifted athletes, Abby Steiner looks like the real deal. She is a quick sprinter with the second-fastest time in the 200-meters for 2022. She recently signed with Puma, the same company sprinting legend Usain Bolt signed.

Abby signed an astonishing contract worth $2 million. Moreover, it is the highest professional contract for a college athlete. During her time at the University of Kentucky, she has proved herself to be a remarkable sprinter. Also, one of the best talents to come out of the NCAA. To get a professional contract from Puma at a young age is astonishing. One should keep our eyes out for the World Championships because Steiner is ready to win medals.

Turning pro after years of experience in Kentucky, Steiner aims to raise the benchmark for NCAA athletes. Currently, she has a personal best of 10.90 in the 100-meter while posting the second-fastest time this year in the 200-meter with 21.77. Steiner aims to take this form to the World Championships, with Shericka Jackson coming into contention.

It won’t be easy, but Steiner looks to win her first major medal. It might be a coincidence (or not) that when Bolt signed his contract, he achieved greatness and won eight Olympic gold medals. To see this in that light, Abby is on the right path to success. Hopefully, she can get an Olympic medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
