The U.S. Soccer Federation has signed a landmark deal with the U.S. women’s soccer team worth $24 million. The Federation further accepted to provide $2 million to the players for their post-retirement plans and to raise awareness regarding the sports amongst women. This decision means that the women’s team will be on the same pay scale as the American men’s soccer team.

On this historical victory, the US women’s soccer team midfielder Megan Rapinoe said, “Knowing that we’re going to leave the game in an exponentially better place than when we found it is everything.”
