Shaun White wound down his Olympic career in spectacular fashion. Despite no medals to return for his showing, he had a stellar qualifying run that had viewers on the edge of their seats. And with the support that White has enjoyed from all quarters of the country; the support he received on a personal level was great too.

White’s partner, Nina Dobrev reportedly hosted a watch party for White’s final event with friends and family and Paul Wesley was a part of the party too. And he seemed pumped for the event. In a video making its rounds online, we can even see Wesley posing with a life-size cutout of the superstar. Presumably, he couldn’t wait long enough before Shaun could make it back from Beijing.

Shaun White bookended his run with the snowboard at the Olympics with 3 gold medals to his name; missing out o his final run. However, he undoubtedly goes down in the history of the games as one of the disciplines’ most accomplished athletes. Appearing in his 5th Olympics in itself can be said to be an achievement and when you add to it that White was also 35 when he was competing, the achievement and its true stature only compound. His unfortunate exit may have put a sour note on the day but he nevertheless goes down as a celebrated snowboarder. And the nation acknowledged the true nature of his achievements throughout the week.

Shaun White and his partner, Nina Dobrev, have reportedly been dating since February 2020. And the Vampire Diaries Star has been in close touch with her co-stars throughout. With Paul Wesley making an appearance on several occasions with the couple he is clearly a part of the Shaun squad. However, neither Nine nor Paul were able to physically make it to the games in Beijing. And even if they had, safety protocols that were active kept any spectators from the events anyway. But where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Nina Dobrev hosted a watch party for Shaun’s finals go on the Halfpipe and hosted a large number of her family and friends including Wesley who made it. And once there, Wesley had to make do with the life-size cutout of the star to placate his celebration of the celebrated athlete. He did however put up a story later on his personal account congratulating the star on his storied career.
