Before the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, Shaun White declared that this would be his last Olympics. Therefore, after his 5th and final Olympics, White laid down his snowboard and took his leave from the professional snowboarding world.

However, what followed after this was not entirely said. Throughout his career, White trained day in and out and never got the opportunity to relax and take a vacation. He was always under the stress and pressure of performing. So right after he retired, White made sure he partied hard.

The first of the parties kicked off in Las Vegas, where Nina Dobrev was also present. A recent video has given us a glimpse of what happened that night, and most importantly, we got to see White’s retirement speech.

A speech from the snowboarding legend

Right after the Winter Olympics 2022, Shaun set off for Las Vegas with Nina Dobrev. Some of his family members also accompanied the couple. Las Vegas was the first of many retirement parties for the snowboarding legend.

At 35-years-old, White is an icon of the sport. Snowboarders across the world know him as White has changed the very face of the sport. White entirely revolutionized the sport. White retired with 3 Olympic Gold medals and the highest number of X Games medals.

White’s retirement party in Las Vegas was all things fancy. Some close friends and family of White attended the party. The athlete was spotted giving a speech as well.

“Wow, where do I start? I think I will start with ‘thank you’, honestly, everyone in this room…,” said Shaun White.

The entire place was beautifully decorated. There was even a life-size figure of Shaun White, in his Olympic attire. The place had huge screens which displayed Shaun’s Olympic stints. The cake itself was huge in the shape of the half-pipe; the very half-pipe Shaun’s life revolved around.

A party to remember

The gang partied throughout the night. Nina and her friends also wore the signature “Flying Tomato” hairstyle wig as a tribute to the legend that White is.
They also drank shots from what seemed like a snowboard-shaped shots board. Nina Dobrev wore an Olympic gold medal around her neck as well.

White himself enjoyed thoroughly throughout the night. He is more than thankful for his beautiful career, which spanned nearly 23 years. After their Las Vegas getaway, Shaun White and Nina Dobrev flew off to Costa Rica for their post-retirement vacation.
