In some ways, yesterday’s NHL game between the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks was just Canucks slander. The top team of the Pacific Division has shown why they deserve the number one position on the leaderboard this season. However, Canucks’ fans have not felt positive about this match, as they see their team fall apart from the inside.
The heat of the game had already begun in the first period. The Seattle Kraken tried to score three times but were denied their chance by Canucks’ goaltender Spencer Martin. Even after blocking those shots, the goal was scored by Kraken’s forward Oliver Bjorkstrand in the 8th minute. Just two minutes later, the Krakens scored another, this time by Alex Wennberg. The first period ended, with the Seattle Kraken leading 2-0.

Putting the Canucks in more misery, Oliver Bjorkstrand scored his second goal of the game in the 37th minute, giving the Seattle Kraken a 5-0 lead. Although the Canucks saw the hope of a comeback when their winger Conor Garland scored in the 40th minute, making the score 5-1.

The game ended with Ryan Donato’s goal for the Seattle Kraken, completely obliterating the Vancouver Canucks, 6-1. The whole match was also marked by the Canucks’ fans’ booing the management’s decision to replace head coach Bruce Boudreau with Rick Tocchet.
Canucks’ fans are just not having it this NHL season
The ice rink didn’t melt but the heat of the match didn’t help angry spectators. Canucks’ fans are just not happy with the management changing coaches frequently. Their recent decision to replace Bruce Boudreau who was the head coach since 2021, with former player Rick Tocchet has not been received well. Here are some mixed comments left by fans –
“As a Canuck fan, I wanna thank the fans in Seattle for the “Bruce, there it is!” Chant. The management of the Canucks are a big joke and what they did to Bruce was horrible. Now I hope for each loss on the road, I hope I hear other fans do that chant!”
“I honestly feel bad for loyal Canucks fans but not management.”
“The Canucks remind me of a bunch of kids who’ve been told how good they are, only they play terribly. They’re just awful. One of the worst defences I’ve seen in my entire life.”
