“See You This Summer”: Surfing Icon Gets Inspired by NBA Star Calling Challenge Impossible on Live TV

Laird Hamilton, the big-wave surfing legend, needs no introduction. Hamilton is also well-known for his extreme fitness and bar-setting underwater exercise regimen. His fitness program, also known as the XPT or Extreme Performance Training, has inspired athletes from a wide variety of industries, including NBA player Jaylen Brown, who recently spoke about his experience with the program.

Jaylen Brown was seen praising his exercise routine in an interview that was shared by Laird Hamilton. The NBA player, who is enjoying a fantastic season on the court with the Celtics, decided to take part in this program because he wanted a new challenge in his life. Hamilton posted the interview on Instagram, adding that he was delighted that the 2-time All-Star liked his workout routine and that he was also inspired by it.

Famous NBA player Jaylen Brown plays for the Boston Celtics. In the NBA, the Celtics have been going strong with only a few minor blips, as seen by their present position in second place within the Eastern Conference. Brown, despite his stellar basketball career, sought a change for himself. The NBA superstar was immediately interested in learning more about this underwater training challenge when he heard about it. The legendary surfer encouraged him to participate in the program as well.

In the TV show, Jaylen Brown talks about extreme underwater training, saying, “Going into this season, I want to do something that I’ve never done before, so I want to train my way up. Very grateful to Laird and Gabby who allowed me to come into their facility to be able to train, and I kinda fell in love with it.” The NBA player, who thrives on difficulty, benefited greatly from his intense training. He also expressed gratitude to Hamilton and his wife for providing him access to the highly advanced software. The surfer also reposted this as he was pretty inspired by the NBA star’s words, saying, “Inspired by Jaylen @fchwpo for trying and crushing @xptlife pool workouts before this season. always a pleasure watching you dominate on the court. See you this summer.”

Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece, two legendary athletes, have spent their whole lives training their bodies to be stronger, faster, and more efficient. In this process, they created the training called XPT Water, which involves both shallow and deep water and incorporates ballistic, strength, aerobic, and mental exercises.

The three core elements of XPT are breathing, moving, and recovery. The pool workouts the power couple does together have developed into a regimen that can be adjusted to suit people of varying fitness levels. This water workout routine includes over 30 different exercises that may be done with dumbbells in both shallow and deep water at swimming pools.
