During a practice session in Adelaide for a V8 Supercars race, there was a massive shunt. Rookie driver, Macauley Jones had a sudden failure on the car and lost control of his car.
According to internal investigations, a brake failure was the culprit. Fortunately, he was able to clamber out of the car unassisted and unhurt.
Team owner and father, Brad Jones said, “He’s had a brake failure. The front brakes initially started to work and then the pedal has gone to the floor”.

“He’s okay, but I can’t quite say the same thing about the car. There’s a lot of work to be done there to get it sorted out.” Jones senior continued.
“Looking at how hard that thing hit, I’d be surprised if we can do anything with it, but we’ll see what happens when we get back.”

He admitted that he was quite gutted for Macauley because he had been doing a solid job. Jones had not put a foot wrong all day and to end the V8 Supercars session like that is not how you want to start your first race.
Luckily for him, he was perfectly alright, but it was a pity for the whole CoolDrive group. This was because they had had a good run during the session.
