Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag was in for an unpleasant surprise yesterday when Riot Games rescinded his early access to Valorant. This move came after multiple eSports teams complained to Riot Games about not getting the same privilege as Nadeshot. The popular content creator took to Twitter to air out his opinion but also accepted the decision with grace.
Nadehsot’s Valorant early access rescinded
Nadeshot is a stalwart in the gaming industry. Not only has he been creating tremendous amounts of content for many years now, but he also owns part of the eSports team 100 Thieves. It was his connection to 100 Thieves that gave rise to this particular issue with Valorant.

Basically, other eSports teams were left fuming because they felt this early access for Nadeshot gave 100 Thieves an undue advantage-both financially and in the process of recruiting players.

Following the growing concerns among multiple teams, Riot Games ultimately decided upon holding Nadeshot’s early access. He had to wait until the beat went live to play and stream the new game.
While Nadeshot was certainly disappointed with this turn of events, he also asserted that he understood the reasons behind Riot Games’ decision on the matter.
Secondly, I want to congratulate everyone on their team for the upcoming launch of Valorant. League of Legends is THE most successful esport in the world and I can’t wait to see what they’ll do over the next few years with a FPS.

I’m grateful for the beta access that I had last weekend and the access that I’ll have for the foreseeable future starting tomorrow. Although I’m bummed that I was asked not to stream & won’t be live for the 1st day, I understand the position Riot is in and respect their wishes.

But to all the owners that complained about my access and forced Riot into this position… I’ve been creating content since 2010. I’ve been streaming before Twitch even existed. I’ve made thousands and thousands of YouTube videos. If you’re wondering I had access, that’s why.

Nadeshot’s cool and understanding demeanor means that the issue will probably not escalate and die down quickly.
As painful as it must have been for him to wait, he did and now he is already busy playing and streaming the new game as I write this.
