Video: Israel Adesanya Predicted Exactly How He Would Knock Out Robert Whittaker

In the history of UFC, there has been a handful of talents who have had a meteoric rise as Israel Adesanya had. In less than 2 years of his UFC debut, Adesanya made history by becoming the undisputed middleweight champion in the biggest event of UFC history.

After winning the interim title against Kelvin Gastelum in a gruesome war, the Broken Native set his eyes on the undisputed title hold by Robert Whittaker at the moment. And what a night it was. UFC 243 recorded the highest attendance in a UFC event with close to 60,000 fans in the arena to watch Adesanya’s clinical performance.

To start things off Israel Adesanya made one of the most electrifying entrance by dancing his way into the ring. He then just outclassed one of the best middleweights, Robert Whittaker in striking. While Whittaker was charging towards Adesanya with some bad intentions, Adesanya played the role of a Matador and countered everything Whittaker had to present.

Though Adesanya came very close to finish Whittaker at the end of round 1, he did not force the finish. In the end, Adesanya got the job done in the second round, completing a fairy tale.

Adesanya has said on multiple occasions that everything that happened at UFC 243’s main event was planned from the entrance to the knockout. And he just showed the fans a glimpse of it by sharing a video of him “visualizing” his fight.

In the video, Adesanya can be seen throwing the same counter he hurt Whittaker with, in the fight. Not only that, but he also rehearsed his victory celebration by climbing the cage.

It’s hard not to compare this to one of the most memorable knockouts in UFC history when Conor McGregor shut the lights out of former featherweight champion, Jose Aldo and became the featherweight champion. Later a video of McGregor throwing the exact knockout punch in the backstage surfaced.

There has been no official confirmation on the next opponent of Israel Adesanya. At the moment though it seems Yoel Romero might be next for the title shot, his record in last three fights does raise a question about his eligibility to get another title shot.
