‘The Notorious One’ is back! Conor McGregor has begun training for his much-anticipated rematch against former interim champion Dustin Poirier. McGregor will make his return to the Octagon after announcing his retirement earlier this year. In a series of tweets, McGregor had expressed his frustration for not landing a fight.
Amidst the chaos that ensued, McGregor took to Twitter and invited Dustin Poirier for an exhibition bout. The former interim chap didn’t waste a lot of time and accepted the offer. UFC President Dana White later revealed that he has offered a fight to both the fighters.
In no time, both the fighters accepted the fight and if everything goes as planned, we could witness McGregor return to the Octagon in a rematch for a potential #1 contender’s match for the UFC lightweight championship against an equally accomplished Dustin Poirier.

McGregor dropped a training video ahead of the Dustin Poirier fight. Needless to say, he looks crisp. There’s no denying McGregor’s skills inside the Octagon. He is quick on his feet and has knockout power in his hands. In a striking battle, there are hardly any fighters who would match McGregor’s speed and skill-set. It will be interesting to see how Dustin Poirier will fare against the former double champ.
Conor McGregor to make his UFC return
Conor McGregor has made it a habit to announce his retirement whenever things go awry. Prior to this, McGregor has already announced his retirement a couple of times before.
This time around, when McGregor’s wish to face Justin Gaethje was not entertained, he took to social media and rained down on UFC President Dana White. However, it looks like things are going the way McGregor wanted them to.
