Virat Kohli Takes Running Stunner Inches Off the Boundary Ropes

After the Indian cricket team posted a total of 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, it was the bowlers’ turn. The Windies got off to a flying start, with Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis wreaking havoc. Fortunately, Lewis was sent packing, courtesy Washington Sundar and Rishabh Pant. However, Shimron Hetmyer took his place and continued the assault on the Indian bowlers when it happened, courtesy Virat Kohli.

A Ravindra Jadeja delivery to Hetmyer was lofted in the air for a surefire six. However, captain Virat Kohli had other ideas, and sprinted across from long-on, stretched every sinew in getting both hands to the ball. Unfortunately, his momentum threw him off camber and sent him tumbling down.

Fortunately for the Men in Blue, he managed to stop himself from touching the boundary ropes. Hetmyer, having drilled the full delivery hard was left in disbelief and took the long walk to the dugout with 23 runs to his name.

Unfortunately for the home team, Kohli’s heroics would be the last bright spark for them. Once Nicholas Pooran walked out, he linked up with the surviving Simmons and picked up where Hetmyer left off.

A quick-fire 38, coupled with Simmons’ 67 runs saw off the Indian threat to close out the win.With the convincing win, Windies also levelled the three-match series. Chasing a challenging target of 171 on a tricky surface, the visitors prevailed, courtesy, Simmons’ 4 fours and 4 sixes. The final score read 173 for the loss of two wickets
