Here are the headlines, Virat Kohli didn’t edged the ball as the replay showed after he went out to the dugout. There was a big gap between the bat and the ball. Also, the ultra edge didn’t show any deviation.

It was Virat Kohli who walked off to his own self-consciousness. The umpire didn’t raise the finger until Kohli walked out of the crease. Pakistani captain and wicketkeeper, Sarfaraz Khan, also didn’t appeal for the wicket. However, Virat Kohli felt that he had edged the ball and went back to the dressing room, forcing the umpire to raise the finger.

The ‘Men in Blue’, however, put a defendable score of 336 runs with the help of the strong opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

KL Rahul said between the innings breaks, “It has been a while since I opened the batting in a One-Day International. Bit of nerves but happy that I could get the team off to a start like that. We know that with Pakistan the initial threat is Amir and Hasan Ali who can seam the ball a little bit.”

He added, “It was important for us to be smart and play out the first 10 overs. I am happy I did that. I won’t lie, I was nervous about the hype of the India-Pakistan game but it was more because I hadn’t opened the batting in a while. Getting an opportunity after almost two years, so I was more nervous about that. I think so it is a good total.”

Rahul continued, “We all know the conditions here, it has been raining and the wicket has been undercovers were thinking 260-270 would be a good target as it was slow and sticky at the start. To get past 300 it gives us that extra boost and we have the bowlers. If it spins then it will help our bowlers.”
