Australia opener David Warner returned in form and that too with a bang. He smashed all Sri Lankan bowlers all around the park and scored his maiden T20I century against Sri Lanka in their first T20I match of the three-match series. His century came off just 56 deliveries which included 10 fours and 4 sixes.

His stunning century helped Australia to put up a huge total of 233 for two in the game. David Warner, however, was seen entertaining everyone with his cricketing shots. Although he is the highest run-getter for Australia in the shortest format of the game, thisone will be special for him as he has played at home after completeing his year-long ban over his involvement in the ball-tampering case.

David Warner, along with Aaron Finch, got off to a flying start as they scored 57 in the powerplay. They stitched a partnership of 122 before Aaron Finch fell for 64. Glen Maxwell then joined Warner in the middle and didn’t waste time to set. He also continued to play big shots and both added 107-run stand. Maxwell scored a blitzy 62 off just 28 balls before getting out.

However, Warner got back on strike while only two deliveries left in the innings. He took a double off the penultimate ball before reaching the hundred with a single off the final ball of the innings. Sri Lanka players failed to restrict Warner and his variety of shots. Along with his usual flicks and cover drives, Warner was seen pulled off a brilliant switch-hit over third man to score a boundary in the ninth over as well.

Although Warner had been in a great touch during Indian Premier Leaugue and the ICC World Cupearlier this year, he had a poor show in the Ashes. This knock will certainly help him getting back into the groove ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia next year.
