WATCH: Gareth Bale Refuses to Hold Real Madrid Pennant before the PSG game

Gareth Bale, who has been out of favour for Real Madrid for quite a while now, is currently playing matches for the club amidst injury concerns. But how much is he still in love with the club.

Bale featured in Real Madrid’s opening fixture in the UEFA Champions League, but it was before the start of the match that Bale shared an awkward moment with the team. For a team photo, Bale along with other player were getting ready, when Raphael Varane brought gave him the club pennant. A video came out of the incident where Bale is seen taking the pennant in an extremely reluctant manner, and immediately pass it on the Dani Carvajal, who was beside him, before the photograph is clicked.

The initial expression when Bale was give the pennant looked extremely hilarious, and the video in slow motion looks even more funny.

After the awkward moment, the match for Real Madrid was not so far from awkward, as the scoreline read 3-0 against their favour.

After the rather humiliating loss, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane hit out at his players over their “lack of intensity.”

“They were better than us in every department,” he said, during the post-match press conference. “In the play, in midfield, and the thing that annoys me most is the intensity.”

“It is very difficult if you do not start strongly.They are good at creating chances – that is not what worries me, it is seeing my team without the necessary intensity at the high level of this competition. We knew they would put pressure us but we did not really get properly into the game at any stage.”

“Intensity is the most important thing on the pitch. You can have your worst game, but if you play with intensity, put your foot in, win challenges, you can win the game – but we didn’t,” Zidane said.
