Australiahave started their summer with a huge win over Sri Lanka in their first T20I match of the three-match T20I series. They restricted the visitors less than 100 while they put up a huge total of 233. Their foundation was made by David Warner, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell.

David Warner smashed a century off just 56 balls to help his side put up a huge total of 233 for 2. However, he was supported by Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell where both of them scored fifties. Maxwell was looking extremely dangerous in the middle and bought his half century in only 22 balls.

Glenn Maxwell has been going through a rough patch with the bat but seeing his game in the  last game, it can be said that the old Maxwell is back. Having considered as oneof the dangerous batsmen in the world cricket, Maxwell proved his worth once again. His stunning fifty also included the famous helicopter shot of former India captain MS Dhoni.

Australia were on 204-1 and they had 14 more deliveries in hand and at that time Maxwell started playing more dangerously. He hit two consecutive sixes in the 18th over off Rajitha. With the first one, he reached the 50-run mark. The next maximum was exactly like MS Dhoni one and he sent out of the park.

However, Maxwell’s formidable innings eventually ended at 62 off just 28 balls. Apart from his phenomenal performance with the bat, he was brilliant on the field as well. Even he is considered as one of the best fielders in world cricket. He helped in a run out in the game as well. While fielding, he was heard saying ‘run out’ before even picking up the ball and the fielder, who was wearing a mic, threw the ball to the wicketkeeper Alex Carey and he did the rest.

Australia, however, restricted Sri Lanka to 99 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs to win the match by a whopping 134 runs. The next game will be played on October 30 at Brisbane.
