Lando Norris had a tough start this season but ended that phase with his P3 finish in the Imola race, celebrating his first podium this season. However, during the podium celebration, Lando didn’t realize where he was doing his signature podium celebration.

The McLaren drivers have some amazing podium celebrations. While Daniel Ricciardo has got his infamous ‘Shoey’ celebration, his young teammate has got an amazing and unique celebration with the champagne bottle. For this, Norris hits the bottom of the bottle on a podium stand, which pops open the bottle.

Finishing 3rd in the Emilia Romagna GP, Norris got the opportunity to perform his iconic celebration. However, he didn’t notice where he was hitting the bottle. In the spur of the moment, Lando hit the bottle on Max Verstappen‘s podium step, knocking down his winning trophy.

Lando Norris claims McLaren is the third-best team in 2022

The Woking base had a poor start this season, as both the McLaren drivers were unable to make it into the Top 10 in Bahrain. However, the second race in Saudi Arabia was somewhat in favor of the papaya team. Norris finished P7, bagging the first points this season for his team. Meanwhile, Honey Badger had a poor race at Jeddah and eventually retired as he lost drive in his car.

However, the English constructors turned the tables in the Melbourne race. Both Norris and Ricciardo finished in the top 10 with P5 and P6, respectively. Their 2022 challenger again looked amazing in Imola. The McLaren drivers qualified P5 and P6 for the Sunday race. Unfortunately, Ricciardo finished last as he collided with Carlos Sainz early in the race. On the other hand, Norris finished third in Imola, scoring the first podium for himself and his team for the season.

After the race, Norris revealed that his F1 team is now the third-best team after the likes of Ferrari and Red Bull. Norris revealed, “We’ve worked on the weaknesses and we’ve made some improvements. There are a lot of positives from it but I think we are comfortably third, I would say.”
