It is always fun as a child (and many times as an adult too) to imitate different bowler’s bowling action. That is how you grow up playing cricket down the street, in your society ground or wherever you play. Even a random imaginary ball bowled inside the house is also so much fun. That is what Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin tried to do in one of the practice sessions ahead of the first day and night test match in India.

A video came out on social media where Ashwin was seen bowling left handed with an action similar to Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya. Ashwin and the people around him managed to have a light moment in the practice session with the pink ball.

Ashwin, who picked up five wickets in the first test against Bangladesh, will be looking to bring out his bag of trick this time with the pink ball. With the pink ball expected to swing more than the traditional red ball, Ashwin’s work might be cut out with the kind of relentless pace attack that India possess, but it is not often that you can keep Ashwin away from action in a home test. It will be interesting to see how much the pink ball assists the spinners and how much of a part will Ashwin have to play in the second test.

Another video from one of India’s pink ball practice session was released by BCCI, where many of the Indian batsman, including captain Virat Kohli and last test’s man of the match Mayank Agarwal, were seen practicing to adapt to the new conditions.
