Despite not playing in the ongoing second Test between England and South Africa in Cape Town, Jonny Bairstow is in the news for some different reasons. The second Test between South Africa and England is taking place at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town where both sides have been doing good.

England scored 269 in their first innings on the back of Ollie Pope’s 61* alongside the contributions from Sibley, Denly, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes. On the other hand, South Africa too started well where Dean Elgar made 88. Later Rassie van der Dussen also scored 68 runs.

However, it was James Anderson who picked up 5 for 40 and restricted South Africa within 223,  giving England a 46-run lead. With this, Anderson picked up his 28th five-wicket haul in Tests, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin and Sir Ian Botham’s record of 27 fifers each.
