WATCH: Sloane Stephens Teaches Baseball Star Tennis

Sloane Stephens was recently featured on a very interesting show. The American tennis star was part of the Quibi series “Iron Sharpens Iron”.

This is an innovative feature on the video platform where the purpose is to showcase the interaction between athletes from varied sporting backgrounds. They share the secrets of their individual training methods and learn the secrets of their co-sports stars. Pair ups include Deontay Wilder and Melvin Gordon; P.K. Subban and Andy Ruiz Jr.; Pascal Siakam and Lolo Jones; Nyjah Huston & Simon Pagenaud; Michelle Wie & Kerri Walsh-Jennings; Cam Newton and Trae Young; Amanda Nunes and Carli Lloyd; and Justin Turner and Sloane Stephens.

The American appeared with the much-revered Baseball star Justin Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Their efforts to play some tennis together on the basis of Sloane Stephens’ tips were hilarious.

How did Sloane Stephens teach tennis to Justin Turner? 

Sloane employed a simple enough method. They just had to hit the tennis ball on to the fence.

While Stephens showed Turner how to do it, he didn’t look very comfortable with the idea. In fact, he ended up adding a bit of his own sport to the mix. He hit the ball almost like a home run making it cross the entire fence.

This led to a loud round of laughter from both the tennis players. Obviously, the show has a very innovative concept designed to provide the fans with some quality content during the lockdown. Talking about Sloane Stephens, her tennis career isn’t exactly where she would want it to be. Injuries and poor form have derailed her once-promising career. She will be looking to re-establish herself once the tennis season resumes.
