WATCH: Stump Mic Catches Tim Paine at it again Behind he Stumps; Says Muhammad Rizwan “Smells Nice”

Austrian captain and wicket-keeper, Tim Paine was doing what most wicket keepers keep doing behind the stumps- chatter. During the first test match between Australia and Pakistan at the Gabba, Brisbane, some of Paine’s chatter that was caught by the stump mic seemed funny, when he seemed impressed with scent of Muhammad Rizwan.

Rizwan came out to bat after Pakistan suffered a batting collapse. After losing five wickets for 94, the wicket-keeper batsman shared a crucial 49-run partnership with Asad Shafiq for the sixth wicket.

“He smells very nice,” Paine was heard saying in a video obtained from Twitter. Paine also enticed him to play a sweep shot.

The partnership involving Rizwan enabled Pakistan to get a decent score, as the day ended when Pakistan lost their last wicket at a score of 240.

16-year old debutant:

The match drew excitement much before is start when it was confirmed that a 16-year old Pakistani fast bowler, Naseem Shah would be making a debut for Pakistan.

He has been highly regarded in Pakistan at such a tender age, and his bowling would be one to watch out for as he match progresses.

Wasim Akram, who also made his Test debut as a teenager and became a legend of the game, believed that age should not be a matter if a bowler is ready. “In my opinion, if someone has pace and has first-class wickets under his belt he’s ready to go. It’s exciting, I saw his spell with the pink ball, he’s sharp and I saw him in first-class cricket before he arrived here,” he said.

Naseem Shah scored 7 runs on his debut with the bat, but it is with ball that he will be looking to make a mark.
