Arguably the most dominating UFC champion of all time, Khabib Nurmagomedov is on the top of the game with an unprecedented record of 28-0. When a young Khabib entered the sport of MMA he was feared for his phenomenal grappling. However, his striking was very underrated until he fought some of the best strikers in UFC such as Conor McGregor, and Dustin Poirier.

Khabib’s grappling has evolved significantly throughout the years and he is just getting better and better at dominating his opponents on the ground. However, his striking has gotten better over time as well which can be seen from his recent performances. After all, he traded strikes with one of the finest strikers in the game, Conor McGregor and scored a knockdown. Khabib was two fights into the UFC when he faced Thiago Tavares. Both of them took a cautious approach early in the fight. While Khabib was fainting and trying to land big shots he was barely missing the sweet spot.

Though there were a few exciting sequences in the fight nothing really got the fan going until Khabib caught Tavares with a leaping uppercut. Khabib was quick to get on top of Tavares and landed a right hand. Though Tavares tried his best to limit Khabib’s movement by hanging onto Khabib’s leg, that was not going to stop the Russian.
