The third edition of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown came to a grand conclusion as 21-year-old Alex De Minaur became the youngest champion in the quick-fire tournament’s history. Several top names participated in the event held at Antwerp – will fans get to see Nick Kyrgios feature in the upcoming editions?

The world has already witnessed three editions of UTS in 2020. Italian Matteo Berrettini captured the inaugural tournament, while Alexander Zverev won the second edition back in August. Now, Australian talent Alex De Minaur lifted the title by defeating Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

Following his victory, the 21-year-old posted a photo of himself holding the Lightning Bolt trophy and expressed his feelings on Instagram. Nick Kyrgios dropped into the comments and said, “Dope.”

“I haven’t been home like this with my family and friends for seven years,” Kyrgios said. “There’s [usually] a massive block of the tennis schedule from after the Australian Open to about this time. I’m not taking it for granted, it’s been an amazing time at home to see my parents, siblings, and just to be home in Canberra is pretty special.”

Kyrgios has not yet made a decision on returning to the tour, and the sport has dearly missed him.
