For the past few years, electric racing has been on the rise and is lucrative enough for many manufacturers to step in. Among them are Nissan, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, DS, Mahindra and Mercedes. Even Renault raced for the first four years before dropping out to focus on F1. Even Porsche will be on their way to the sport. But what about Ferrari?

In 2017, the late Sergio Marchionne met with Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff ahead of that year’s Hungarian Grand Prix. One of the topics they discussed was the future of Formula E.

Porsche announced it own FE move as it pulled the plug on its LMP1 project in WEC. Asked about a possible FE entry, Marchionne said: “I talked with Toto, but I do not think Ferrari enters directly.

“However, we are thinking of doing so as FCA. And if we will enter, with one of the brands from the group, we do not know which one it will be right now.”

Now, in lieu of that revelation, an artist by the name of Matteo Gentile created a concept of a Ferrari Formula E car. It was in accordance with the current Gen 2 specs and it looked quite stunning.
